thats a $1200 laptop brand new, at minimum. for a true refurb which will have some warranty, perhaps ~ $900ish. $200, id say pass.

cpu is the weak link. upgrade to an i5-7500 for around $200 US

I checked prices on both laptops and found the Alienware for around $1600 and the HP for $1500(without an egpu). based on that price point, I'd opt for the Alienware.
