My 2 new Acer Aspire laptops have 802.11ac wireless cards. In my case all other wireless devices worked fine with my FIOS modem. The New Acers did not. Acer tech was worthless. A fios tech....after 2 hrs finally determined that their older modem WILL NOT WORK with 802.11ac wireless cards...

I have a gen 7, i3 and i5. With a Verizon FIOS modem. Both have DL speeds of 100kps. My older Acer works fine as do my HP laptops. There is CLEARLY a compatibility issue. ASUS has no clue. For the i3, I bought a USB dangling wireless device for $40. Works perfectly. God has cursed me...
