yeah the old hard drive still works I just finished backing everything up so I guess no harm done, but it's still strange that happened in the first place. thanks for all your responses.

yeah shift doesn't do anything I've tried around 20 times and ctrl alt delete just resets the PC. What baffles me is the HDD was unplugged when I was installing windows 7 on the new ssd. I did update all the drivers when I installed the software on the SSD I don't know if that had anything to do...

I didn't see a desktop section so that's why this was putting laptop section I just installed a ssd I unplugged my old hard drive and plugged in the SSD I installed Windows then turned off the SSD I then replugged in my old HDD and it would not boot the hdd all there is is a white line blinking...
