    File Data Recovery

You could try shadow explorer, but if no backup was ever made you will be wasting your time. You would need to defeat the encryption on the files which there isn't a work around for.

    xbox one stolen

Microsoft keeps IP records for years for their email services and xbox live subscriptions. You would need to have microsoft forward the current IP being used on the system to your local police department. If the person is using something like a VPN it would be hopeless.

"Industrial Strength" PC Privacy Wiper - Does One Exist?

If you use something like t.o.r in the future on a company laptop I would recommend using the USB version on an encrypted USB so all of your history gets put on the usb drive instead of the hard drive or SSD. I have a box of 8 gig flash drives that swap out and hook up to all of my laptops or...

    Acer laptop flashing press f2

Try pressing f1 or esc to bypass this possibly. If that doesn't work try pressing f9 f10 f11 and f12 at the same time and one of those should take you to the boot option menu. Once you are there highlight your hard drive and boot from it. See if it works.

How to make it so when a user clicks on a file it requires a password?

Veracrypt doesn't let you just encrypt folders, it makes you create volumes for containers so OP would need to mount the volume instead of just being able to password lock a specific folder and having the folder prompt them when they want to decrypt it. If you want something simple and...

http://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/total-security.html also comes with ransomware protection or if you have a lot of devices you could do http://www.bitdefender.com/box/ and just use bytes as a scanner.

    Bitlocker protection from ransomware

Bitdefender is now offering protection from ransomware in some of the AV products 'Paid only'. The simple solution is to download https://www.foolishit.com/cryptoprevent-malware-prevention/ which will protect your computer and it's external drives from becoming encrypted in the first place. It...

What can/will happen if I select the wrong country when bying an anti-virus?

You could cover every square inch of the earth and your av would stay working the entire time. The only reason why product keys have different regions that they only work in for activation is because some policy's for say a game or even a product that uses something like encryption or some type...

Curious about Windows 10 threat after Orange experience

''I recently activated One Drive.''''' You most likely have theme sync enabled. Windows will change your desktop background color etc if you have this enabled. So the color change is most likely changing because of your Microsoft account. I'm also pretty sure your performance isn't any different...

    Malware analysis tools

It really isn't as simple as running a tool at all. You also never monitor a piece of malware or a virus with AV turned on because it can dramatically throw off your results. The only time anyone would need to run an AV tool is if you are testing a database of signatures, or testing an engine to...

    bitdefender free edition false alarm?

If you look at the good AV companies Like F-Secure, bitdefender,Kaspersky they have it as Application.HackTool.Injector.K. This is the actual accurate definition for it. The other products signature databases are most likely not fully matured yet, and their engines most likely lack being able to...

    bitdefender free edition false alarm?

You still are missing the point. Most game mods/hacks will use some generic code that normally triggers some sort of AV. It needs to manipulate things so this is what triggers the AV software. I would install web of trust, see if w.o.t has any feedback on the site, if it has pretty much all...

    bitdefender free edition false alarm?

AV's will still spit out random generic things just because with any game hack you're modifying data which in most cases AV products will flag as malicious. But if it came from an author and site that has good reputation you most likely can be sure its a false piece of malware. The AV was most...
