Make sure you scan your computer with software like malwarebytes, and make sure to clear anything that seems suspect in the extensions part of your browser. If that doesn't fix it, i may suggest re-installing the software but that can be a pain sometimes.

Only buy a monitor that has a higher refresh rate if your laptop can run games at a high FPS. That is the only way you will tell the difference between a 60hz monitor and a 144hz monitor. If your laptop runs games at 50-60 fps, then i suggest getting a 60hz monitor.
