My solution was to daisy-chain two computers into my speakers:
■Connect the MacBook Pro audio out into PC's mic in.
■Connect the PC's audio out into speakers.
■Enable listening on the PC's mic configuration so sound from the mic channel plays through.
Works for me and zero dollars cost.
