    Subwoofer not working through optical cable computer -> receiver

    I have my computer plugged into a receiver using the optical cable but it seems like the subwoofer isn't working. Not even the Dolby files are using the subwoofer it's just imitating it with a low noise. Is there a reason why this may be?
