Asus vs MSI - Same price, which laptop is better?

Neither of those are going to have great cooling simply because they are slimmer laptops, thus smaller fans. I personally own a MSI GT70 and picked it over the equivalent Asus model despite Asus having 2 fans and the MSI having 1. MSI gives you a button that will max fan speed, obviously...

    Custom laptop configuration

What brand? Seems awfully cheap to me when compared to my laptop's specs/price.

Do you use : No Antivirus , FREE Antivirus , or PAID Antivirus and why?

I currently work on my campus in the IT department and am pursing an IT career and we always use a combination of Avast and Malwarebytes. There is also a French AV that I can't remember the name of to save my life, but its the best I've ever used hands down. I personally used to use AVG, but...

New Apple Patent Could Make iPhones Drop-Proof

Without a case no matter what fancy tech you have inside an average drop height of ~5 feet onto concrete will still destroy it... Not to mention this new tech will make iPhones even more overpriced than they currently are. Just spend the money for an Otterbox or Lifeproof case and you know...

    HP G72 and AMD

So I have a slightly older HP G72 (Enterprise grade/model) and it comes with an ATI Radeon Mobility 5450 graphic chip set. I was running the default HP graphic suite, but then changed to CCC 12.6 and ran it for a few years without issue. I tried updating to 14.9 today, which supposedly fully...

    Cleaning PC Speakers by Blower

I have those exact speakers and have used air dusters before. As long as your don't have too much concentrated air you'll be fine.

Overclocking the Radeon 7670m with MSI Afterburner

You may not be able to. It is a mobile chip set. I would doubt that you can. Also, why would you want to if you know the risks? The heatsinks on 99% of laptops are inadequate as is. EDIT: Adequate -> Inadequate

    'Budget' gaming laptop advice needed

Is a laptop needed? Have you thought about piecing together a desktop for him? WIth $1500 budget you could easily set him up with a high end rig or save money and go with a middle of the road rig.

    Laptop buying :D

My HP with a first gen i3 @ 2.53 GHz, 8 GB of Ram (Aftermarket added myself), 500GB HDD, and a Radeon HD 5450 Mobility 512MB card does a pretty good job of everything. Obviously it can't play newer games (if you're into gaming), but it is still a great all around laptop.

    Laptop buying :D

I am a big fan and have had lots of good luck with Asus laptops. At the same time, you'll need to drop some money into upgrading the ram and HDD if you want more space. The Lenovo is honestly the best deal in my opinion. The mobile i3 vs i5 isn't a huge difference.

How much should i sell my laptop for?

I said $1500 for the right person. So someone who really needs a portable gaming capable machine. Otherwise you'd be looking at probably 1200ish.
