Yeah, I think the problem is that the Xonar DGX cannot encode Dolby Digital in realtime. I may have to upgrade :)

The Astro A40s used with the mixamp should generate 7.1 surround, using a 5.1 sound card. The fact is that my sound card will not change to 5.1 from 2 channels.

Hello, I am thinking of upgrading my headset and getting some Astro A40s. If I have a stereo sound card, will the a40 mixamp alone allow me to have 7.1 surround sound or do I need a 7.1 card? Thanks in advance
