I've been having the same problem with a new build. I've been having to switch inputs on both TV and PC, troubleshoot mode on TV, etc., till it comes on at random. Whatever combo corresponds with the Function 7 (on my Logitech its Fn1), or export display, is a proper first try. Worked for me...
