I have done that and still no luck :/

My friend gave me his laptop to fix. He just told me it wouldn't start. Even when it is plugged straight into the wall, nothing happens when I hit the power button(no LEDs, no fans, nothing.) now I had the battery checked out and it is dead. But I'm wondering if replacing the battery would fix...
