    Solved! Battery draining Mojave issues

For people having this issue do this in terminal: log show | grep 'Wake reason' | grep '2018-12' (or if you want specific date, then grep specific date like 2018-12-10) You will see why laptop wakes up and will be able to eliminate that reason, in my case I had this issue with laptop not...

    Quad Core Laptops

Pretty much most recent laptops are sporting 8th Gen i5 or higher are true quad cores. 8th gen doubled amount of cores for U series CPUs, at least those I5 and greater, not sure about I3 ones. Just purchase any laptop with such 8th Gen I5 and you have it, no point looking for old laptops unless...

AfterShock APEX 15R vs Dell XPS 15

From that Afgtershock page: "4 - 5 Hours of usage based on Full charge." That's like... terrible, XPS all the way.

Gaming laptop selection dilemma. Graphics, Refresh Rate, RAM?

Option B easily, much more well rounded machine. Getting I7 and terrible everything else is a poor experience and that 144Hz display is useless powered with something like 1050Ti anyway. Reality is difference between those I7 and I5 for gaming is not big, but between 1050Ti and 1060 is...

Solved! Macbook Pro 15" Mid 2018 Average Battery time?

Well TBH I did not measure precisely, but like now I am doing light browsing, database locally running and some scripts at 70-ish% brightness. I started with 100% battery and after 1 hour I'm on 93%. So I am pretty sure at this rate it will be a good 10 hours. My Macbook is exactly same...

Solved! Macbook Pro 15" Mid 2018 Average Battery time?

Make sure you have Automatic graphics switching enabled in Energy Saver in System Preferences. Also make sure you are not at max brightness for display. I did not measure mine exactly, but it's sure more than 6 hours.

Solved! Can a 2017 Macbook Pro 13 inch satisfy my need?

8GB ram is a problem, get 16. I5 is not a problem, although be aware that 2017 Macbook Pro I5 is 2/4 configuration, while 2018 one is 4/8, which is a massive difference. Overall however, you are much more likely to be constrained by RAM than CPU, so 2017 Pro 13 inch with I5 is 16GB will be a...

Should I sell my MacBook Pro for an iPad Pro 2018?

If you study computer sciences, which I also do, you won't be able to get by without actual laptop. I have both Macbook Pro 2018 and iPad Pro 2017 (which honestly is plenty powerful as well) and while iPad is stellar for taking notes especially as a student, web browsing and even business work -...

Solved! Should I update my 2013 MacBook Pro?

I have 2018 15inch with Touch Bar - base model I7 2.6-4.3 with 16GB ram 560X and 512 SSD. The good: 8th gen CPU finally made this 6/12 cores jump and this shows, really can throw everything at it and there is no shortage of power there. Trackpad - absolutely huge amazing trackpad. SSD - the...

Samsung Seals Out Galaxy S6 Users to Satisfy Critics

wow... I wonder who the hell called the shots for this one, it's a massive failure really :/ I don't give a damn about aluminium because when I buy such an expensive phone I automatically buy a decent 3rd party protector case for it anyway, what I DO care about is switchable battery and SD card...

    best antivirus out right now?

Well, just about any paid solution from a known supplier is good, really. I took Bitdefender, for example, they have this nice Autopilot mode, where it does stuff by itself depending on what you do, it automatically switches between gaming mode and general and such. It seems to be lightweight...
