Finally found the solution. Its all ATI, the Catalyst Driver & the annoying feature called Varibright. Disabling Varibright thru the Catalyst Control Center fixed the auto-brightness issue. Here is more info... http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD2503BA0001R01.htm

Greetings fellas.... I've used many laptops in my days...but this HP Envy beast is a strange one. I cannot figure out how to disable its auto-brightness feature. Any app. I run, or webpage I open, the brightness is auto adjusted to suit it. I've checked the system tray to look for an app...
