My guess is they've hacked users phones so that when they press the off button all it really does is go into standby so it seems like its off but its not and continues to communicate with the cell towers.

There are some people who make some youtube content private and then charge people a fee to gain access to "premium" content. I guess this is a more legit method of doing the same thing.

there's only one reason why iphones are the most popular and it's not necessarily because they're that awesome, it's the huge number of apps that are available on iOS that just aren't available on Windows or Android systems.
