It powers on and lights come on it just doesn't show anything on the screen. I've google it loads today and everything is pointing towards gpu.

Do you think the gpu could be a goner ? I'll crack it open tomorrow and do thermal paste on gpu - what are chances that could solve it ? what are the signs of a gpu over heating ?
