Obviously if they know an inspection is coming they're going to try and fix everything that can fail them. That's why these inspections are usually done unannounced.

Are you allowed to just type x^y? As in x being the root and y is the exponent? If not, and if you're using Microsoft Word, type the number you want to do. Highlight the exponent and press Ctrl, Shift, and = at the same time. That should do the trick.
