    Help with a notebook fan

Well, won't the CPU fry itself, it it doesn't have any sort of cooling aid apart from the copper heatsink ? On my Toshiba, it runs all the time, regardless of the temp, and still gets quite hot. I was planning on replacing the thermal compound, to mend this issue.

Solved! Asus G53 vs Alienware Mx15

Well, do you travel a lot ? Or are you on campus ? If so , then get a laptop. But not one of those 2. They are overkill for what you'll be doing. Do you have a budget ? Some preferences ( nvidia/ati, mac/windows, asus/dell/apple/hp)? If the answer to your first two questions is no, then get a...

    Help with a notebook fan

It turns for 3-4 seconds, but that's about it. And it died all of a sudden, after I cleaned it with an air can. This sort of stuff isn't normal. Can you come up with sth else that might have happened ?

Solved! Thinking about getting a m11x

Well, good luck with the m11x then :) Hope you tell us your impressions. I would still have gone with the envy :P As for the m13x, I don't think that will happen. Because there's not much of a price difference between the m11x and the m15x (between the core models, that is), and if they pull...

    Help with a notebook fan

The fan isn't unsnapped from the shaft. It does move when I use the air can, and moves for a while when I turn it on, but after 3-4 sec. is stops. I can't see where it plugs into the mobo though, I have to take it apart to see that.

Solved! Thinking about getting a m11x

Take a look at this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220770 14 inch, 1gb ddr3 video from nvidia, core i5 and 500gb of hdd. Here's a review: http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=5786&p=2 And it has nVidia's Optimus. 4 hours of battery life is pretty...

Solved! Thinking about getting a m11x

I personally don't think that core2duo low voltage will last you 2-3 years. My 1-year old core2duo laptop with dedicated gpu has trouble doing some things. If you live 1 hour away from campus, do you think that you'll NEED a portable gaming machine for the hours you're in campus? And what sort...

Solved! Thinking about getting a m11x

You didn't say you weren't a mac fan. 8.5 Hours is BS, even a netbook doesn't last that long. Only the core i5/i7 models have an integrated intel media acc., which they use when you're not doing too much stuff. Let me ask you some other questions: do you have your desktop nearby( as in your...

Solved! Thinking about getting a m11x

I would get the HP Envy 14 if I were your. It's got all the new specs and it's far more elegant. Mind you, the M11x is not compact.. it's small, but it's thick. The Envy 14 is 999.99$, and it's got an i3, 320GB HDD, 4 GB Ram and ATI 5650 on it and an 8 Cell Battery. It's a bit larger than an...

    Help with a notebook fan

Hi guys, sorry for bothering you. Yesterday I decided to clean my laptop a bit, and used a compressed air cleaner to blow the dust away from my it. I cleaned the usual parts: keyboard, heatsink grills, RAM and all the notches and holes. When I started it after the cleaning process, the CPU fan...
