I have the Tiamat 7.1 and it is great for games (a slight step up over G35 virtual dolby surround for games) but pretty crappy for any real music listening. A few top games have 5.1/7.1 in their audio presets (more and more) . AFAIK, any DirectSound3D should be properly positioned in 7.1 if set...
