Well I have never owned this laptop but nobody else has answered. If it was my laptop, I would start with just the SSD and remove the spin HHD. Then get it working right with just the one drive. Usually when the laptop will work under safemode but not under normal mode, it is a driver issue...

Some laptops like Toshiba has a touchpad lockout key and I think a external monitor button. I think it's F4 and F5. Take a look on your laptop keys and see if they show anything like that. Good Luck.

Either the ribbon cable to the keyboard is loose or the keyboard is dirty or shorted. Looks like the keys can be cleaned but it looks pretty hairy to me . Maybe someone else will have a better answer, cause I wouldn't do this unless I had to. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhw7di8zczo

Thank you for your reply. Yes I do know that Win 8.1 is no longer supported. I did upgrade to Win 10 . It did not help the sound with the C855 or the L745.

I know this is an old post. An I3-370M is a first generation I3. An I5 2430M is a second generation (Sandy Bridge) . It usually will not work. Your probably going to have to stay with 1st generation CPU. Also for the record, I will say from personal expierence going from an I3 to an I5...
