Oh yeah, also... I'm not sure if I'm correct here (probably not) but some of the software based suggestions seem to me to not be appropriate for windows 10... is that correct or am I getting confused again?

Thank you both. I had already tried all of the solutions suggested, but apparently I only "man looked" for the button: it was on the outside of the drawer the whole time, but the drawer isn't flat and the button for opening it is on the underside of the curvature so it isn't visible from above...

I am thoroughly disappointed at myself for having to ask this question, what a noob... I have just bought a lovely new ASUS Vivobook Pro with Windows 10 and I can't see an obvious way to open the CD drawer. Can anyone help please? Thank you!
