@americanaudiophile, fortunately my motherboard has optical output that I can use to connect to the sound system. The only real bother is that they are a bit far from each other but at least that's a real solution to my problem. Thanks for helping out :)

I have a Sony BDV-E6100 home theater and I'd like to connect my PC directly to it, and then connect this home theater to my HDTV. That way I can take advantage of the audio of the home theater and use the TV as the screen for my PC. I can connect my PC to my TV directly via HDMI just fine but...
