It could literally just be the battery that has been damaged. Or a internal fuse on the motherboard. You could try to fix it, but you can never guarantee reliability as you never know what other components may be damaged. It's a good excuse for a new laptop. Use a surge protector next time.....!

Unfortunately then check the HDMI passthrough settings although unlikely. I think you may have a dead amp. Pretty rare for the Pioneer ones especially the HTP Series.

I used the T450 for about 3 weeks at work. It's a solid device with a pretty nice feel imo. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.

Is there a possible chance that it went out due to a lightning strike? Many TV can vary in surge resistance. What model is the TV and was it on a surge protector?

I don't believe there is any available. If there was they would more than likely void the warranty. Try adjusting your power settings.
