does your headphone still have sound? if it has sounds like the mic is broken. have you tried connecting it to other computer? maybe check your USB jack if its broken some slight bend may break those dongle

Usually mic in line control dont really work on computer, but it works on mobile phone, have you check the sound setting on the right bottom corner the speaker icon and right click on it and then the sound tab then click on Playback/Recording(for mic) and set as default

just get an amplifier to solve it the Creative Sound Blaster X7 :)

have you tried right clicking the speaker button and go to the Sounds > Playback > then you right click that speakers and set as default if TV appears on the menu
