Thanks, but in the end it was an out of date driver - it just thought it was updated. I just had to manually reinstall the driver rather than automatically searching for an updated version online.

I just noticed a large preformance decrease in my computer and looked in my system and my gpu (GTX 980M) is not being shown as one of the specs... I think it has defualted to the intergrated grpahics and not detectign the gtx 980m... please help All drivers are up to date and I havent changed...
