Asus G50v Charging issue / questions about cpu upgrade

Oh, yes. The power plan for brightness was different. .. But also, the lid backlight actually gets a bit less power when it's on battery power versus AC power so it dims a little bit, noticeably, even if the power settings are set for full brightness on both battery and AC power. So try to load...

Looking for a SMALL (10", 11") but HIGH PERFORMANCE laptop

The MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro doesn't weigh too much, has 15" screen, good build quality, great keyboard, 6700HQ 1060 , 32GB of RAM. Powerful, not too heavy, good cooling system too with 3 fans. That'll be my next one but I don't mind having a non-tiny laptop. Can't have too many power...

Looking for a SMALL (10", 11") but HIGH PERFORMANCE laptop

Seagate makes a 2TB 5400RPM 7mm hard drive now. .. and you can get a 4TB Samsung 850 EVO 7mm thick(i think) drive now. Should be able to find 16GB minimum for even low powered Skylake laptops. 32GB for mainsstream 64GB for high end heavy ones.

Liquid spill on my new MSI gaming laptop. Have some questions

Yeah for sure. But being a conductive liquid, if it got that far into the laptop while it was on... etching could of happened. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7pMOi3gGD4

Liquid spill on my new MSI gaming laptop. Have some questions

Um, CPU and GPU temp probably wouldn't be affected by spilling beer on your laptop after dry. If you hear sizzling, hold down that power button until it shuts off!

    Help choosing new laptop

Yes they both should have great performance. Only if you need more than 2 strong CPU cores (with the integrated video compute ability) in the future.. Make sure you can upgrade the 256GB SSD to something larger and that you can upgrade to 16GB of RAM in either one you get.

    Help choosing new laptop

CPU performance isn't really increasing much year to year so in 5 years these laptops won't be that far behind. Longevity is structural integrity of the chassis, life of the fan (may or may not be easy to replace yourself), having the most up to date of relevant optimized CPU instruction set...

    Advice On New Gaming Laptop

Yeah it's great for the price. Can't find the 970m version cheaper on Ebay, but the 980m version I can find for about $1470 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-ROG-G751JY-DB72-17-3-Inch-Gaming-Laptop-GeForce-GTX-980M-G-SYNC-/172050974752?hash=item280f098820:g:VtkAAOSwL7VWitHm) or $1520...

    Advice On New Gaming Laptop

Looks like a good price. I'd put in an SSD for sure to really make it fly with loading times, updates, installs, multitasking.

    Gaming Laptop Help

Yeah for only $100 you can get a Asus G73? Of course get that and I suggest putting in an SSD to make it really snappy down the road when they get cheap enough for the capacity you want. Battery life; don't know if it supports the switchable graphics that the GPU supports, if not, then battery...

    Gaming Laptop Help

Looks like the Asus is 1366x768 (via comment on Amazon), if it had a full HD screen i'd go with that because it is much newer, takes a lot less power while being nearly as powerful of a GPU even though it's integrated. The CPU may be a bit less powerful but way way less hungry too. But since...
