No it wont. The battery will know that it is full and stop accepting as much of a charge. As long as it isnt a month, you wont do any damage to your laptop. For the longevity of the battery, just be sure to let it run completely down every once in a while.

It will work, but your computer will probably be at maximum load during. Just to let you know, Blu ray plays in 1080p which your screen isnt capable of showing without shrinking it anyway, so a blu ray drive wont help quality by much unless you have the screen to display it on.

For it to support Blu Ray, the drive would need to be made specifically for the laptop, unless its connected through USB. One thing to note is that Blu Ray plays back at 1920 by 1080 resolution and high bitrate audio, so if you do play a Blu Ray disc, it will take up the majority of the resources.
