    It worked with nothing.I spoke to Bose and they said I should reboot (unplug all power and disconnect all inputs) than ut them back together and it worked, all sorted. thanks for your question, maybe this is a solution for others as well. Ian

    I have o new LG OLED55B7 tv and connected to old BOSE 35 lifestyle (whch doesn't have HDMI) connected via optical toslink and get Surround sound but cannot change the volume of the surround via any remote (or even the lifestyle volume up/down button) and ideas
