I thought VGA doesn't translate into RCA directly? Or do those wires convert the signals? My question isn't about finding wires, it's more about learning which signals translate directly. For example DVI and HDMI signals are the same and can be converted directly. I just want to know which can...

Hmm I care more about music and movies. I mostly watch on DVDs. Would this matter at all? Are DVDs also 2 channel?

VGA to RCA (Composite) does nothing. I've already read another thread on this forum in which multiple people said that a straight VGA to RCA converter wouldn't work except for very few graphics cards because VGA and RCA uses different types of signals and that one would need a VGA to RCA...

Hah, I just realized that this thread was pretty old. xD But I'll just put my 2 cents in. I'm pretty sure that my old 2.1 speakers I got from a junkyard for free doesn't anywhere near match the speakers I currently have which is just a 30 bucks difference.
