    Yes I looked at a few card readers in the meantime but have no idea what their function is or how to install it. I guess I will learn!

    I really don't know what model it is. Purchased in April 2007. I have looked all over and don't see any model #. I don't have a card reader.

    That happened to me. Try removing the lens and then putting it back on. It might correct the problem.

    I have a Rebel xti and upgraded to Windows 7 and now my photos won't upload to the computer. I tried to find the suggestion given; "try switching your camera communication mode from "normal" to "PTP" under the second tools menu. A card reader though will save you a LOT of time downloading...
