Woah, woah, woah. You don’t need an i7 and 8/16 GB RAM for school work, that’s a bit like buying a Lamborghini just to drive to the shops at the bottom of the road. Something like a Core 2 Duo and 2 GB RAM would work fine. The Dell Latitude and IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad laptops are pretty good...
