I was looking into buying an rca composite to hdmi converter to hook an old record player up to an hdtv but wanted to know if those converters would put out an hdmi signal if the yellow video input is missing? I want the hdmi to be a black screen with audio.

Have a record player with RCA audio out (Red & white) and want to hook it up to my Samsung UN55F7500 smart tv to hear the music. When I try to do this using the AV2 channel, the TV says no signal. Further experimenting, if I hook the yellow RCA up from some other device that is outputting video...
