    I can't actually specifically recommend a NAS program, but why not just get a USB-SATA adaptor / caddy and just run the drives through DBAN?

    Your CPU temperature is extremely high. AMD lists the max temperature for the CPU at 100c: http://products.amd.com/pages/notebookapudetail.aspx?id=34&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 I'd seriously consider replacing the thermal paste and monitoring the temperatures.

    I'm assuming you're using a Windows based operating system and NTFS file system here, the procedure is different for every operating system and file system type. Free recovery software: https://www.piriform.com/recuva (Basic, probably be okay for your needs)...

    dell e1705 won't take drivers after installing clean XP

    Sounds odd. Does the disk show up at all? If so - have you tried dragging the driver files to the desktop and installing them from there? Is there any error message or does it just not do anything?
