Usually you can go into settings then application manager and it will bring up a list of your apps. Go through them, delete/uninstall what you no longer want/use and clear the "cache" on others Be careful what you clear "all data" on as you may lose game progress or settings and accounts info...

What cable are you using? Have you selected the correct "source" on the tv? Is the vcr on as vcr, dvd, or perhaps even tuner? (It may be connected but you can't see anything as it's not playing anything if that makes sense)

When I transfered a bunch of music files from my pc to my android tablet I sent them via bluetooth (mp3 and wma) On another occasion I put them on an sd card then put that in the tablet and used file manager to drag and drop them into a folder on the tablets own memory. It may be a dodgy/old /damaged lead, try another if you have one or buy a new one Are you charging with the tablet off? Blutooth off? Wifi off? Some of these apparently loose the connection with the battery, and need something inside re-soldered, hopefully it's just the cable ;)
