Thank you i did try both of those things with the same outcome... just keeps restarting. I may try to pull cpu and replace with another to see if that is the issue then at that point i give!! Its ashame too i like that nice 20" screen and its been a great laptop for the house.

Please help my sony laptop wont stay on it just keeps restarting. I have tried booting with cd but no luck i tried trouble shooting parts hd, mem, nothing even cleaned out fan and put new thermal paste, it runs hot...still doing it! Board is a hannstar jmv-6 Thanks
