About the ram thing, I don’t think that is true. When I got my new hp laptop, I put in ram from an older laptop (both ddr4) and it worked just fine. As for the portable monitor, this is just an example, but if you search portable monitors in google, you should find something...

If you were only using cad lightly, maybe the asus one will perform a bit better. Besides, since the laptop only has one stick of 8 gb of ram, you can always purchase another stick of 8gb later on to suit your needs. Just make sure you purchase laptop memory/ram...otherwise, it’s going to be too...

I think with auto cad you may want to consider more ram at the expense of boot time. Should speed up the process a bit.

Do you know exactly what seems to be the problem with the laptop? (screen doesn’t come on, battery won’t charge, etc)

For your tasks, the core m suits you better. You don’t seem to be doing many intensive tasks, and the lower voltage from the processor means the battery will last a bit longer. Besides, you already have your gaming Pc.

I’m assuming you’re not much of a multitasker? Regardless, the CPU in the dell one should be working a lot faster than the Lenovo one, therefore, less lag

Not sure if that breaks the bank, but it’s pretty good, user won’t be using more than 500 gigs for web browsing and a game or two. And it’s at SSD speeds vs traditional hdd speeds. And just better overall specs.

Rollercoaster tycoon would be the most demanding task of them all...and it doesn’t require too much resources. I was going to say get a chrome book, but the Acer one will do just fine for your tasks.

Well, I gave it a shot and it was a little complicated, but during some email browsing and searching on the web, I found this thing called Block posters that did it all on the web. Worked out great. Anyways, thanks for the photoshop tool. Might come in handy later on.
