Thank you for your response. I tried nearly everything you suggested at least twice with no change. It still shuts down 2 sec after pressing the power button. I didn't have another AC adapter but the voltage out measured 19.6 VDC. The only thing that changed was when I removed the memory...

The computer shuts down 2 sec after pressing the power button. With the memory modules removed, the start up sequence stays on for about 10 sec and the fan runs. Memory is original (8GB). Any suggestions?
