RE: G230s: When I tried them, the pad ontop of the g230s was unbearbale when I tried it, not comfortable at all. But again, this is a very subjective choice so OP should try some and make a call.

This kind of thing is subjective obviously. Personally I think that all "gaming" headphones (tried several) are trash. I owned the Corsair Vengeance cans and could not stand them. I would seriously consider going to a store like Frys or Microcenter and trying for yourself that way you can...

Those gaming headsets are trash but yes it will suffice for basic listening and talking.

I could see the audio being good but movie overall, no.

On a side note John Wick was probably one of the worst movies of all time.

Without reading every post in this thread, I think DTS is a pretty good compromise. When a 1080p movie with DTS is like 5GB I don't think I would want to go full blown lossless with the audio.

There goes (cr)apple with their proprietary crap.

Disgusting all around. Another power grab from the feds.

Paying that much for a sub 1080p display just urks me a bit... I feel like you can get a bit better value at the $6-700 pricepoint. I know a budget is a budget but that is my 2 cents. I've been eyeing this... not that I would buy it from Best Buy, but I feel that it is a pretty good deal...
