    What format is the video from the camcorder? .mp4, .qt, mpg2 ... ? Most likely your PC needs a codec . Or use a universal videoplayer that can play anything, like VLC. http://www.videolan.org/

    The SDK is the game engine. The subscription gives you access to source to some example games, and is probably worth it.
