I presume 16.4.1 is the latest available driver? I would suggest uninstalling the drivers and try installing a previous driver, maybe 15.x.x

I specifically don't want windows. I have no need for windows at all.

This doesn't sound good. Try it with only one stick of ram try that stick in multiple slots. Try all combinations of just one stick of ram in every different slot.

Can you start it if you take the battery out and plug the power cable? Try a different Power cable, Try a different battery?

Unplug from mains, hold power button down for 20 seconds. Plug back in and turn it on. Have you tried resetting the CMOS? It's worth a try at this stage I guess.
