No, the mic doesn't respond when i speak the pc knows its there but the mic isnt working

I just got my Steelseries Siberia V2 Frost Blue. when I plugged it in the sound was working great but the microphone would not pick up my voice. I installed the new drivers and everything. When I go on control panel and look at my mic and talk the bar doesn't show that my voice was picked up.
