I did this with a Yamaha reciever and it sounded great. I used a JBL self amplified subwoofer which I powered with a computet power source to lower the amps to 10, simular to a cars amps. My Sony is a 5.2 reciever and my Yamaha was a 5.1 reciever. I don't know if this is part of the problem or...
