If you are out of warranty, I do not recommend sending the computer to ASUS for repairs. They could not diagnose this problem, charged me $200, and returned a the laptop to me. The computer now will not stay on for more than about 2-10 minutes, so it is effectively bricked.

2 cents: Asus has a history of neglecting defective hardware. Buy an extended warranty if you go that route. (google search G75 shuts down randomly)
