    With that setup you will struggle to run PS2 but guild wars 2 should be playable. I would recommend running PS2 at 720p.

    You can play most games at low 720P with the integrated GPU, But if you want a playable experience get a laptop with a standalone gpu, Like a GTX 860m for example.

    It wouldn't be TWICE as slow, as most applications only rely on 1-2 cores.

    It will make a pretty big difference, but do you already have a HDD for your laptop? Because if you completely replace the Hard drive with an SSD you will have to re buy windows. (PS brohoof)

    Honestly i would try taking it to a computer repair shop, or you could try returning it to the manufacturer.

    It could be a battery issue, I Would get a replacement battery as the battery could have shorted out.

    My friend has the same processor, And he can run all the games you listed, So It is gaming capable, Just don't expect to run ALL Of the new AAA Titles smoothly, Some of them are ridiculously demanding.
