Some of the cheap 8" sound downright buzzy. That's why it's been relegated as a secondary sub behind the couch and replaced by 600 watt 12" JBL.

It's simple really. If you plan on watching Blu-ray flix on the PS3, then go 1080p. If not, save the money with 720p and buy an extra game or two.

I'd be skeptical. TH-58P etc... indicates it's a 58" Panasonic plasma, not 50". Plasma's have dropped so much in price, spring for a new one. Plasma's also dim over time, how much has it been used?

Computers and TV resolutions don't quite match, unless you get a TV/projector with a 768 native resolution. Other than that, not much you can do. Sorry.

All have dropped in price, except the PS3. Most reviews I've read indicate all are pretty equal, but Samsungs have had some audio issues, although they have new models out that may have solved them. If they're all around $299, go Sony or Panasonic, as they consistently make good stuff.

The smaller the TV, the better the picture. Using the standard cables as you are will get you the worst picture. Use red, blue, green for progressive scan on DVD's or, better yet, HDMI so you can "up convert" to HD "quality".
