What sort of software will I need to buy?

I just recently got a new blu ray player, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to play blu ray movies on it, I have the latest codecs, and VLC but even that won't play it, even after installing the legendary codecs for VLC, So what Do I do to get it to run my Blu Ray movies, Please...
