Yeah I get it, thanks. :) A slightly different question, is it ok to let a laptop battery discharge to zero and just leave it until when ever I plug it in again? Or if I am not using it would it better to charge the battery to 100% and shutdown the laptop completely to preserve as much battery...

The picture is becoming clearer. I think what your saying is that the charger doesn't actually produce more current when it's connected to the laptop battery, it just starts releasing the power through the cable, is that right? Does that mean the charger is storing power when it's disconnected...

So the charger only receives a very small amount of power from the UPS while it's not charging the laptop, how does the charger know when to request full power from the UPS/wall when it connects to charge the laptop?

So when the laptop charger is plugged into the UPS but not powering the laptop is it not drawing any power? Or just a small amount of power?

Someone is privately selling a brand new Dell G3 15 laptop they won as a price through their work. If I buy it off them will I be covered by Dell with a warranty as long as I have the product ID, serial number or service tag? There will be no purchase invoice in this scenario.

Would you be happy with an i5 7300HQ?

The HP looks really nice but I'm not going to spend 2K.. Did anything else stick out? So would the 8300H be sufficient in the Asus FX504? Knowing to avoid the U processors and to look for i5 H processors helps a lot thanks.
