its about 3 months old, could it just be a bad part or something? im not the best with computers just basic stuff...

i have put a cd with all of my family pictures in my laptop and it makes the noises like it knows its in there but doesn't prompt for me to look at them, I was on the phone with dell support but got hung up on so I have been trying to figure out by myself on how to fix it and am stumped. please...
