    Laptop won't boot from anything.

    I just ran into the same problem and found a solution. Go into the BIOS and look for UEFI/Legacy Boot (or something to that effect) and make sure it's set to Both. Mine was set to UEFI Only and wouldn't boot my Windows 7 install disc or Hiren's Boot CD.
