    I found the answer after writing the question. All I had to do was Minimize the internet and wha-la - everything was back in working order.

    Solved! how do I reverse the fundtion key's setting on my windows 7

    I accidently hit the F12 and it has hidden my tabs bar, I can't see File, Edit or anything on that area either. Nor can I select Show tabs on separate bar. I have IE11 and windows 7. Please advise.
