EDIT ALERT!! I went back to my computer and again did the hard reset by pressing the start button with battery and power adapter out. Low and behold.. I attached my power adapter, placed the battery back in and ALAS... the battery is now recognized and is charging! Whoo Hoo! PS... I don't mean...
